The course aims to provide an introduction to the underlying philosophies and theories for the existence of a legal system and its laws, the interaction between Law and other disciplines such as Ethics, Society and Business, the different perspectives and approaches to the Law as well as specific topics on Asian Values and Adjudication. The application of the various jurisprudential theories will be illustrated through local legislation such as the Women’s Charter.
