5 Tips to Bidding

5 Steps to Bidding

PLAN

Plan your modules and professors way before bidding opens. Always a good idea to talk to seniors on what modules are good, and suited to your taste. That way when bidding opens you won’t be rushing chasing for responses from your seniors.

BUDGET

Budget your modules. It’s important to have an idea of how much e$ you are going to spend on your modules, and how much you will have left, for any back-up plans you have in place. A tip from seniors is to always bid for extra modules in the event you don’t get the ones you planned to.

CLEAR

Clear any administrative holds. This usually occurs due to unpaid tuition fees, and can be a great hindrance when you log into BOSS and find out you can’t bid for modules. This usually occurs during the second semester, so freshmen just be cautious of this in future

DON’T

Don't intentionally arrange your schedule with your friends as far as you can. This is where things start to get crazy complex, especially when some friends get bids and others don’t. Remember it’s all randomised, so even if you all bid the same amount, it’s not necessary that all of you get it, should there be others bidding the same and higher.

AIM

Aim to secure all your modules in the first window as prices bump up in the subsequent rounds and windows, given the competition for places.
